The State Bank of India launched its own mobile payments app named BHIM SBI Pay app. BHIM SBI app lets users do UPI transactions with ease. It can be used by SBI account holders as well as customers of other UPI-enabled banks. The transfer of funds is carried out through Virtual Payment Address (VPA). Within seconds you can transfer funds and make payments. You must register with the same mobile number, which is linked to your bank account, and you also need to have a debit card.

How to Register for SBI UPI?

To register for SBI UPI, you have to follow these steps:

  • Start by downloading the 'BHIM SBI Pay' app from the app store of your mobile.
  • Next, enter your mobile number, which is registered with your bank account and verify it.
  • After your mobile number is verified, enter your name and then move to the next step.
  • Now, select the bank in which you have your account and then select the account number and click on 'Register'. Follow it up by choosing a 6 digits password.
  • Now, enter your debit card details, set up an m-PIN, and a registration message would be sent to your mobile number.

How to Collect/ Receive Money From SBI Pay?

You can collect or receive money from SBI Pay by using following steps:

  • Open BHIM SBI Pay on your mobile.
  • Tap on 'Collect/Receive' option.
  • Enter the VPN of the from whom ypu want to receive money, enter the amount and then click on 'Request'.

SBI UPI Transaction Limit

The UPI transaction limit for one day is a maximum of ₹ 1 Lakh. Thus, you cannot make UPI transactions worth more than ₹ 1 Lakh in a day through BHIM SBI Pay.

Timings of SBI Pay App

The UPI transactions from BHIM SBI Pay can be done 24*7, 365 days with a real-time transfer of funds. Therefore whether it is a national holiday or bank holiday, you can still make payments and receive money through UPI.

Charges of SBI Pay

Currently, there are no charges for UPI transactions made through BHIM SBI Pay.


How can I get an SBI UPI ID?

You can download the BHIM SBI Pay, enter your basic details like Name, DOB, etc. in the UPI section. After which you can link your bank account and enter your desired 6 digit UPI PIN to get your SBI UPI ID.

Does SBI charge UPI transactions?
