  • 2021-07-15 : Syndicate Bank merged with Canara Bank - IFSC and SWIFT code changed
    After the merger of Syndicate and Canara Bank, the IFSC codes for erstwhile Syndicate Bank customers will be changed from July 1 this year. Existing Syndicate Bank customers will have to use their new IFSC codes for online transactions through NEFT, RTGS or IMPS routes.
  • 2021-07-01 : Change in IFSC code of Canara merged Syndicate Bank
    Since Syndicate Bank has merged with Canara Bank, the IFSC code and the cheque book of Syndicate will become invalid from July 1. Likewise, the customers of the bank had been asked to update the IFSC code latest by June 30.
  • 2019-10-18 : Canara Bank cuts down interest rates on savings accounts
    With effect from October 15, 2019, Canara bank revised interest rates on savings accounts by 25 basis points. The revised rate on savings for an outstanding balance of less than Rs 50 lakhs is 3.25%, and for an outstanding balance of Rs 50 lakhs and above, the interest revised is 3.75%.

    Public sector lender, Canara Bank has reduced interest rate on its savings bank account by 50 basis points to 3.5 per cent on deposits of up to Rs 50 lakh. However, the bank will continue to pay 4 per cent interest on deposits of above Rs. 50 lakh. The new rates are effective from 1st September, 2017.
