Initiated by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority, the MHADA Housing scheme aims to provide affordable houses in areas such as Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, etc. via the MHADA Lottery system. Under this scheme, 1384 houses will be given to applicants. The last date to submit the application for the same is December 10. The date was the lottery announcement had been scheduled for December 16. The MHADA will hold the lottery at its headquarters located at Bandra East.

Under the MHADA Lottery, the price of a LIG Flat is Rs. 20-35 lakh, while the price of an EWS flat starts from Rs. 14 lakh. Talking about HIG Flats, they would be available at a starting price of Rs. 60 lakh and goes up to Rs. 5.8 crores. The prices of MIG tenements start from Rs. 35 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 60 Lakh. Applicants will have to pay stamp duty on the cost of the unit.

MHADA Housing is offering properties in various locations such as Antop Hill, Tunga Powai, Mankhurd, Mulund, Gavhanpada, Sion, Pratiksha Nagar, Mahavir Nagar in Kandivli West, Siddharth Nagar in Goregaon West.

Eligibility Criteria for MHADA Lottery

To apply for the house via MHADA Lottery, the applicant must possess a domicile certificate as proof that he/she has stayed in Maharashtra for 15 years. Additionally, the age of the buyers must also be at least 18 years and above. Having a PAN card is also a must. Income range and different categories accordingly are:

  • EWS or Economically Weaker Section – up to Rs. 25,000/-
  • LIG or Lower Income Group – Rs. 25,001/- to Rs. 50,000/-
  • MIG or Middle-Income Group – Rs. 50,001/- to Rs. 75,000/-
  • HIG or High-Income Group – Rs. 75,001/- and above.

The income above-mentioned is average monthly income and excludes reimbursement allowances such as medical, transport, laundry, and so on.

How to Apply for MHADA Lottery Scheme

The applicant must visit the website https://lottery.mhada.gov.in and register by creating a username and password. The next step is to fill in the MHADA online form. Applicants need to provide basic details such as name, family income, date of birth, occupation, marital status, PAN card number, residential address, own mobile number, and other information. Applicants must submit a valid mobile number as it would be used for future reference as well.

After logging in, the applicants can see various MHADA Housing Schemes available. They can select the MHADA Lottery from the options available. Applicants can check the scheme code i.e., reference to the shortlisted location, which is available either in the online annexures or in the brochure. The applicant needs to offer an undertaking that they or their immediate family members do not own any other property in the city. Additionally, the applicants are required to give their bank account details.

Once the online application process is completed, applicants must submit the application fee via debit/credit card or through NEFT/RTGS online. Demand drafts are also acceptable. If applicants are choosing the demand draft as an option for fee payment, they must print a copy of the application form and submit it at the designated bank along with the DD. For paying online, the candidate must upload an image of a canceled cheque and make the payment to the MHADA bank account. Candidates can generate a payment slip through the portal for future reference.
