2017-07-19 :SBI launches SBI Realty portal to assist buyers with house selection and loan calculation
State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the launch of a dedicated portal, SBI Realty that will help home buyers to choose their dream homes from its 3,000 approved projects across the country. Simultaneously, the newly launched website will also assist home buyers in calculating the appropriate home loan amount a customer should borrow based on their income and credit profile.
2017-07-19 :Demonetisation has helped Karnataka Bank to grow low cost deposits
The demonetisation move has helped the Karnataka Bank to strengthen its base of total deposits including low cost deposits and CASA (current account, savings account) deposits. As per the bank’s available data, the bank’s share of low cost deposits stood at around 25 per cent pre-demonetisation which increased to 29 per cent after demonetisation.

Fino Payments Bank has announced the launch of its banking operations. Currently, it has 410 branches spread across 14 states with 25,000 banking points. 2017-07-19 :Bajaj Finance reports net profit at Rs. 602 crore
One of the leading NBFCs, Bajaj Finance has reported a significant growth in its net profit at Rs. 602 crore during the first quarter of FY18 as against Rs. 424 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. As per the available data, the bank’s net interest income (NII) rose to Rs. 3165 crore from Rs. 2282 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. Simultaneously, the NBFC is also targeting to grow its business loan segment.
2017-07-19 :Government clarifies hotel room tariff of up to Rs. 7,500 will attract 18 per cent GST
The government has clarified that the accommodation in any hotel with tariffs of up to Rs. 7,500 per day will attract 18 per cent tax rate under the new indirect tax regime, irrespective of whether it is a five-star hotel. Simultaneously, hotel rooms with tariffs below Rs. 1,000 per day will be chargeable to GST tax at a rate of zero per cent and those below Rs. 2,500 will be taxed at the rate of 12 per cent while the tariffs between Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 7,500 will fall under 18 per cent slab besides levying highest tax slab of 28 per cent on luxury hotel accommodations.
