- 2020-12-02 : SBI RuPay, NPCI, JCB platinum contactless debit card launched
SBI, NPCI, and JCB International Co., Ltd. (JCB) have launched SBI RuPay JCB Platinum Contactless Debit Card on the RuPay network. The contactless debit card will offer a dual interface feature that will help customers to perform both contacts as well as contactless transactions in the domestic market and contact transactions overseas. - 2020-11-11 : SBI to focus on financial inclusion
SBI is planning to increase the share of its newly created business vertical, financial inclusion and micro-markets from the current 12% to 20% by March 2022. SBI September quarter net profit jumped 52% year-on-year to Rs 4,574.16 crore as the provisions declined during the quarter. Credit growth for the bank logged an improvement of 6.02% over the previous year driven by home, personal, car, two-wheeler and gold loan along with mudra and business loan. Total advances at the end of Q2 were at Rs 23.83 trillion. Further, total Deposits which includes fixed and recurring deposits grew at 14.4% on a yearly basis to Rs 34.70 trillion, out of which current account deposit grew by 8.55% YoY while saving bank deposits grew by 16.28 per cent YoY. - 2020-09-30 : SBI in tie-up to offer digital payment solutions to HUL retailers and distributors
State Bank of India (SBI) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), under which the bank will provide its digital payment and financing solutions to the FMCG company’s retailers and distributors. - 2020-09-23 : Google Pay introduces a tap-to-pay option for SBI Card users
SBI Card announced a collaboration with Google to enable customers to use their cards on Google Pay platform. Users will now be able to make card payments using Google Pay app on their Android smartphones in three modes. The bank is striving to promote zero contact, digital forms of payments for safe and enhanced customer experience.
