What is CIBIL Dispute?

Types of CIBIL Disputes

CIBIL disputes can be classified under the heads, as mentioned below:

  • Individual Disputes :You can raise individual CIBIL Dispute in case of errors in the following details.
    • Ownership & Account related :If the loan account or enquiry made in the credit report does not belong to you or the same loan application gets reflected in the report more than once you can raise an individual CIBIL dispute. How to Raise a Dispute Online on the CIBIL Website?

The disputes, as mentioned above, can be raised on the CIBIL website by following the steps as mentioned below:

  • Visit the official CIBIL website by clicking on https://myscore.cibil.com/CreditView/login.page?enterprise=CIBIL and login to myCIBIL with your login credentials.
  • In case, you have accessed the credit report elsewhere; you need to register on the CIBIL website.
  • Now, under the ‘Credit Reports’ Section, find ‘Dispute Center’ and click on the ‘Dispute an Item’ option.
  • Next, fill up the details in an online dispute form and click on the submit button.
  • Choose the relevant section for raising the dispute and enter the accurate information regarding incorrect information, company ownership or duplicate information under the ‘Dispute Type’ section. Also, briefly mention the reason behind the dispute.

How to Raise a CIBIL Dispute Offline?

The process of raising a CIBIL dispute online is quicker and provides greater convenience; however, if you want to submit the complaints about errors in your CIBIL report offline, you can write to TransUnion CIBIL. CIBIL Dispute Resolution Process

  • Once you have raised a CIBIL dispute, the disputed fields are mentioned as ‘under dispute’, and errors are scrutinized further.
  • Based on the type of dispute TransCIBIL will coordinate with your lender for rectification of errors.
  • The lender will then accept or reject the dispute. If disputes are accepted, CIBIL will make the corrections, and the same will be reflected in your subsequent credit reports.
