Factors that Decide SBI Credit Card Limit

Below mentioned are the factors based on which SBI determines your credit card limit:

  • Credit history: The first and foremost factor that SBI evaluates as it receives your credit card application is your credit history. If you have a good credit score, it signifies that you can repay the credit on time and hence you will be provided with a higher credit limit and similarly vice-versa. Borrowers with no credit history also get lower credit limits against their SBI credit cards.
  • Income and Debts: The debt-income ratio is another crucial factor that SBI evaluates before determining the credit limit. The amount of existing debts and how you manage with your income sources helps in deciding the SBI credit limit. The lower your debt-income ratio is, the higher will be your credit limit and similarly vice-versa.
  • Limits on other credit cards: SBI also determines the credit card limit based on other credit cards. For instance, you have a platinum credit for another bank. It is quite apparent that you have a high credit limit as available against regular credit cards.
