The first coronavirus case in India was detected on January 30, 2020, and since then the country has been battling a coronavirus pandemic with cases surging every day and people losing their lives. This deadly virus has impacted the lives of almost every person in some or the other way that India has become the fourth most impacted country. To help people the impacted government is taking all the measures and various organisations are also doing their bit to better the whole situation. One such step is taken by the State Bank of India (SBI). In June, SBI launched a new personal loan scheme called SBI KAVACH Personal Loan Scheme. Let's discuss the scheme in detail:-

Recently, the largest public sector bank in the country has tweeted from its official Twitter handle, "Introducing KAVACH Personal Loan by SBI. As the nation battles this dreadful virus, we are providing financial aid to you and your family members for Covid treatment."

Who all can apply for SBI KAVACH personal loan?

This loan can be avail by the following people:-

  • Any person or family member who is or was covid positive on or after April 1, 2021
  • Salaried and non-salaried
  • People who are receiving a pension from the central or state government
  • No collateral is required

Loan Amount and Tenure

  • You can get a loan for up tp Rs 5 lakh depending on the eligibility (the loan amount is over and above the loan will be over and above the existing loans if any
  • KAVACH personal loan can be taken for up to 60 months (including a moratorium of 3 months)
