How to generate Post Office Debit Card PIN at Post Office ATM?

Individuals can change and generate the Post Office Debit card PIN by visiting the nearest Post Office ATMs. the process for generating the PIN is as follow:

  • Visit the nearest Post Office ATM and Insert the debit card in the ATM
  • Select 'PIN Generation' option
  • You will be required to enter your 11-digit account number. Enter the same and click 'Confirm'.
  • Then enter the registered mobile number, and press 'Confirm'.
  • Then the screen will display 'Your green PIN will be shortly delivered to your registered mobile number'.
  • Press 'Confirm' to see another message 'Your Green PIN generation has been successful, and you will receive the same on your mobile number'.
  • You will then receive a message on your number with OTP or the green PIN.
  • Within 2 days, you are required to visit any Post Office ATM and select the 'Banking>PIN Change' option and enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number when the ATM asks to enter the Post Office ATM PIN. Then, change the Post Office ATM PIN.

Post Office PIN Generation by SMS

Account-holders are also provided with an option to change the Green PIN by sending the message from the registered mobile number.

  • Send an SMS using your registered mobile number in the format PIN ABCD EFGH.
  • Here, ABCD means the last four digits of the Post Office ATM card while EFGH means the last four digits of Post Office Account Number.
  • Once the SMS is sent, you will receive a One Time Password to the registered number. The OTP will be valid for two days and should be used to generate debit card PIN by visiting nearest Post Office ATMs.

Post Office ATM PIN by Calling Post Office Customer Care

Customers can also generate an ATM PIN by calling Post Office customer care. Steps are as follows:

  • Using the registered number, Call Post Office toll free customer care.
  • Select the preferred language and follow the instructions and select the 'ATM and Prepaid Card Services' option.
  • Select the option to generate Green PIN.
  • You will be required to enter your debit card number. Enter the same and confirm.
  • You will be required to enter the account number linked to the debit card, enter the same and confirm
  • Once you confirm all the details, you will receive an SMS with OTP in your registered number which will be valid for two days, during which you can visit the nearest Post Office ATMs to generate your debit card PIN.

Post Office ATM Card PIN Generation Online using Internet Banking

Steps for generating the Post Office PIN online using internet banking are as follow:

  • Log in to your net banking using the credentials.
  • From the main menu, select the option of Card Pin.
  • Click on Generate PIN on Debit Card PIN section.
  • Select the debit card and enter your 16 digit number with CVV code,
  • Enter the grid number printed at the back of the card and Generate OTP.
  • Enter the 4 digit OTP you received on your registered mobile number and Submit.
  • Type the new PIN. You will receive confirmation of PIN generation on the display of net banking, on your registered mobile number and your registered email ID.
