UIDAI Ecosystem

The UIDAI ecosystem consists of 2 significant functions which are explained below:

  • Enrollment of individuals for Aadhaar
  • Authentication of Aadhaar

Enrollment and Update Ecosystem: The process of enrollment for Aadhar involves setting up enrollment agencies, collecting demographic and biometric information of the individuals. UIDAI recognises registrars as an authorised organisation to enrol and update the information of people for Aadhar. During the procedure, the registrars further appoint enrollment agencies which assist the registrar in the enrolment process. Various certified operators/supervisors are also engaged in the entire process of enrollment and update ecosystem.

Authentication Ecosystem: Unique Identification Authority of India appoints a number of Authentication Service Agencies (ASAs) and Authentication User Agencies (AUAs) for authentication of Aadhar. Aadhar Authentication is the process by which biometric and demographic details of the individuals are verified.
