Once you have completed the offline process of Aadhar card link with mobile number, follow these below-mentioned steps for re-verifying the Aadhaar number through OTP.
- Dial 14546 the linked mobile number.
- Select residential status (Indian or NRI).
- Press 1 for confirming ‘Re-verify Aadhar’.
- Enter the 12 digit Aadhaar number and press 1 to confirm.
- An OTP will be sent to the linked mobile number.
- Let the operator access your name, photo and date of birth from UIDAI.
- The IVR will state the last 4 digit of the linked mobile number.
- Listen to it carefully, and if correct, type in the OTP sent to the linked mobile number.
- As the IVR instructs, press 1 to complete the re-verification.
By Visiting Store
To link Aadhaar with the mobile number, you can visit the store or retail shop of the network provider. Once in the store, you will have to follow these few steps.
- Provide the number you wish to link with your Aadhaar number.
- The executive at the store will send an OTP to the mobile number.
- Show the OTP to the store executive.
- Provide your fingerprints via the biometric scanner at the store.
- After providing the required details, your network provider will send confirmation SMS to your mobile number.
- Send ‘Y’ as a reply of the SMS to complete the e-KYC.
When you visit the store, to link a mobile number to Aadhar card online, do not forget the carry a self-attested photocopy of your Aadhaar card.
By Visiting Enrolment Center
Earlier the process to link Aadhar to the mobile number was available via a Self Service Update Portal. However, this facility is no longer available. Now, one can link or update their mobile number by following these steps.
- Go to an Aadhaar Enrolment centre or Update centre.
- Collect the Aadhar Correction form, fill in with the mobile number to be linked and submit the form.
- Provide your biometrics for authentication.
- Once all requirements have been provided at the centre, you will receive an acknowledgement slip containing a URN or Update Request Number.
You can check the status of your Aadhaar update request using the URN or by calling the toll free number 1947. There is no need to get a new Aadhaar Card after the update. You can visit the official portal of UIDAI to generate the Aadhaar mobile link form and book an appoint at an Aadhaar Enrolment centre or Update centre.
