Enrolment for aadhaar card is solely in the hands of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). UIDAI in collaboration with the state governments has set up centres where an Indian citizen can enrol for a new aadhar card or can get demographic details updated.   • Click on Locate an Enrolment / Update centre near you.
  • A new web page will open up, select State, PIN Code, District, Sub-District/Village/Town.

  • Enter the captcha code.
  • Press Search.
  • List of aadhaar enrolment centre and aadhar update centre will be displayed.

Types of aadhar Centers

There are approximately 25,000 aadhar card centres out of which few are permanent aadhar centres and few temporary aadhar centres. Government has come up with a new rule under which aadhar centre can only be opened in a government or bank premises. UIDAI also has asked all public sectors and private banks to open the aadhar centre in one out of ten branches.

  • Permanent aadhar centres - Permanent aadhar centres are the centres operated by authorised agencies and the primary task of these centres is enrollment and updation of aadhar.
  • Temporary aadhar centres - Temporary aadhar centres work on contractual basis which are operated by non-empanelled agencies. The primary work of such centres is the enrollment of new aadhar cards.

  • 2021-06-16 : PF return allowed only with Aadhar seeded UANs
    As per the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) instructions, PF returns shall be allowed to be filed only for those whose Aadhar cards are verified with the UAN. The date for filing ECR (electronic challan cum receipt or PF return) with Aadhaar verified UANs has been extended to September 1, 2021.
  • 2021-06-11 : Linking Aadhaar and PAN mandatory before June 30
    The deadline to link Aadhar card with PAN card has been extended from March 31 to June 30. Failing to link Aadhar-PAN until the deadline will lead to a penalty of Rs 1,000 and PAN becoming inoperative.
  • 2021-06-09 : Aadhar not mandatory for any covid-related service
    UIDAI clarified that for any covid-related service, having an Aadhar card is not mandatory. If in case anyone is denied service just because of not having an Aadhar card, the issue must be raised to the concerned authorities.
  • 2021-04-01 : PAN Aadhar linking deadline extended till June 2021
    The government has extended the deadline for linking the aadhaar to PAN by another three months to June 30, 2021. The earlier deadline was March 31, 2021. This is the ninth time that the deadline has been extended for individuals to link their PAN with Aadhaar.
  • 2021-03-31 : PAN-Aadhar linking deadline tomorrow
    The last date for linking the PAN to Aadhaar is tomorrow - March 31, 2021. In case of failure, the PAN cards will get inoperative starting April 1. This will affect customers as they will not be allowed to carry out transactions wherever quoting of PAN is mandatory. Such customers may also face a penalty of Rs 1,000 as per the Finance Bill, 2021.
